Good news everyone! I received my tires today via Old Dominion Trucking.

One was manufactured on 4/91, while the remainder were manufactured on 4/90.
They were manufactured by Denman.

Condition: ALL OF THEM ARE BRAND NEW!!!! They still have the molding flash
and all the "nubs" intact. In fact, 4 tires had the flaps included! (the
fifth probably fell out during shipment or storage- I won't complain since
they were unexpected).

While delivery to the Los Angeles area took longer than expected (delivery
promised by Genesco on Dec. 20th, but the first delivery attempt by the
trucking company was on Dec. 28th after I had already left town for the
holidays), I am in a word, 100%, totally, completely, unequivocally, and
incredibly SATISFIED!

It will be about two weeks until I get these mounted. I can give an update
then if anyone is interested but I'm not expecting any sidewall cracks or
other anomolies to manifest themselves.

Previously I wrote.......

I ordered 5 each 9.00X16 NDT tires from Genesco
(http://dirtroad.com/class1b.htm). They promised 70% or better tread with no
weather checking.

They are $48 each, or 4 for $175. Shipping for 5 to the Los Angeles area is
$58.

That's about $55 each shipped to my door truck freight. Sure beats $140-$175
each I've been quoted by the usual sources for new tires! If I get a few
years and a few thousand miles out of these, I'll be quite happy. 1/3 the
price for nearly 2/3 the life = good enough for my hangar queen!
