In a recent discussion about whether or not you should be trusted to own an
ex-military vehicle, especially something with armour, I attempted to make my
point by
saying......

"Before we ban mil-veh's we should ban airliners. Why, you might ask? Why
indeed....did you know airliners are known to be frequent carriers of illegal
narcotics, disease and pestilence? Criminal plots often include the use of a
commercial aircraft and they are a major scource of air and noise pollution!
Airliners have been the instrument of choice by terrorists 11 times in 19
years, commercial aircraft have resulted in the deaths of 3764 people in the
same period. During the same time period zero deaths have been attributed to
ex-military vehicles used in terrorist plots, in flight failures or criminal
undertakings. It must be concluded that airliners are therefore at least
3764 times more dangerous to the public than ex military vehicles! Even
fully camouflaged ... operated on the highway...in Sacramento, CA ... at
night ... in the rain ... at top speed (45 mph) ... pulling a silly little
trailer ... even these rascals are thousands of times less risk to the public
than a commercial airliner.

By the logic previously established by legislators regarding gun control and
the now applied to mil-veh ownership restrictions, we ought to ban these most
dangerous of things...commercial aircraft! The only reasonable thing to do
now, based on such clear and conclusive evidence, is to write your
representative and demand an end to the "airliner menace." If not for us ...
then for the children."

Then what about the common bus? he asked. "Oh, good Lord, now there is
another threat let me...."
