To summarize:
The Line of Sight Anti Tank (LOSAT) kinetic energy AT Missile under
development as mentioned in the postings develops 60 Mega Joules (MJ) of
energy as against 12 MJ for today's 120mm Abrams AT round. It also moves
at 2.2 KM/second..... The contention is that explosive reaction armor
does not work against the LOSAT and no suspension system/ engine
combination around can support enough armor to defeat the round.
This is why the CS is proposing the demise of tracked armor.
