WLA scabbard

Most folks are familiar with the scabbard for the Thompson SMG that fits
in the bracket on the front of a WLA Harley. I've got one except it
holds an M1 carbine. It is dated 1945 and marked US. It is black and
this seems to be the original color????
If any WLA owners are interested or can give me a little more info on
this scabbard, please email me.
