i like ospho too it seems to work good. somone told me about Oxisolv from
Eastwood company ,EXPENSIVE, it leaves a zinc phosphate coating instead of
iron phosphate and it seems to leave less residue on the surface if yo dont
wipe it all off or can't. I have sprayed it on large surface areas without
wiping and it doesnt seem to leave a yucky residue to deal with later on.
sometimes i see a black gooey residue with ospho, any body know what this is??
Just for the fun of it I sandblasted a 12 inch piece of sheet metal and
treated it with ospho and sprayed some LPS#3 grease on it and for a month I
dipped it in the ocean when ever I passed by a certain park ( maybe 10 salt
water dips for 5 minutes each) And I left it in a dirty retention pond
overnight for about 6 nights and it just starting to show small areas of
rust. not exactly a scientific test but i was amazed that it didnt rust
sooner.
