I have a friend that built a tumbler about eight feet long and four feet in
diameter. It has a supported shaft though the center to rotate on and
is driven by two mounted tires that ride against the drum. An electric
motor drives the wheels. There's a door on one end. He chucks some
stainless steel disks in with the metal he wants cleaned and lets it
rotate for hours. You wouldn't believe how smooth my M37 winch bumpers
and brush guards came out. No pitting like when I sand blast. I have
a commercial diesel compressor and pressure pot, but this deal really
works good on stuff that can be put in the tumbler.
