I was just re-reading Bryce Sunderlin's excellent article on paint in ARMY
MOTORS #43, in which he states that the original WWII OD color: #319 Olive
Drab ((Panama Pullman Green) was listed in the Federal Color Standard as
FS-33070. Some current paint dealers offer both #319 and FS 33070 (some
calling 33070 early war and 319 late war; others calling #319 correct for
1941-44 and another color for late 1944-57). Without getting into the
explanation of different paint suppliers and scarce pigments during the war
and at the risk of starting another wild discussion.; What is the difference
between these two paint colors?

Also, what is a good color match for the nice gloss OD as used on WWII
.30caliber (M1A1) ammo cans?
