What Eugene says is true. I just changed the oil in my Humvee, CUCV and
M151 and put in the mil-spec 15-40 (Rotella) in the M151 and CUCV, and the
Mobil 1 full synthetic in the Humvee. One has to remember that oil
technology has made many great strides in recent years since these older
vehicle's LOs came out. Although you can feel very happy with the oil
originally specified, some of the newer oils are even better. Especially so
in the case of the new expensive multigrade full synthetics.
