All of my M35A2 trucks and a CUCV Blazer have silicone DOT 5 in them.
What I do when in doubt is take a sample of the fluid that's in the vehicle
and
put it in a clear glass jar. Then I add an equal amount of DOT 5 Silicone. If
it mixes, then I have DOT 5 in the vehicle. Regular DOT 3 (and I imagine the
other DOTs) mix with silicone like oil mixes with water -- it doesn't!
You can double check by seeing if regular fluid will mix with a drawn sample.
When I did this the two fluids stayed absolutely apart.
