Clay County M38A1

Last week, I purchased an M38A1 with Illinois title. After spraying it
once over with Klean-Strip brand aircraft paint remover (GOOD STUFF!)
from WalMart, I took it to the high pressure carwash and the ugly hunter
special camo paint rinsed right off and revieled blue paint, about Ford
Tractor blue, maybe one shade lighter. Under the windshield glass it
had "Clay County Civil Defense" hand lettered on the frame. The sides
of the hood have "Sheriff Patrol" hand lettered, all lettering in white,
very fancy letters. Does anyone anywhere remember ever seeing this
Jeep, #17667 in some state's Clay county? Yes, it's just another old
Jeep, but as it took me 21 years to buy my other M38A1, #17833, I take
great interest in knowing about any history that may be available.
Although #17667 has been beat around a lot more than #17833, it runs
great and drives OK. I thank you in advance for any info anybody may be
able to provide.
