Joe,
Sorry you had trouble. What vehicle did you propose to drive on the Natchez Trace Parkway?
And what made you think you should ask for permission first? Just curious at their immediate refusal.

A few weeks ago a air show was held at Savannah Tennessee to benefit
St. Judes Children's hospital. The Mid-South Chapter of the MVPA was
asked to have a few vehicles there to help draw the crouds. Savannah is
several miles from myself and from the Memphis area where most of the
members of this chapter live so I thought that I would call and get
permission to use the Natchez Trace parkway to cut a few miles of the
trip for myself. When I called to get permission they informed me that
it was alright for a horse trailer or camper or any recreational vehicle
except mine to use the Trace. They said that if they caught me on the
Trace they would treat it as a commercial vehicle which is a federal
offense even though the whole trip was for charity.
