I have had excellent results with USF Reddaway. They are an LTL carrier
and you can get a quote with the description and the weight. They will
also provide you with a quote number that they will honor. The other thing
you can do is go to a local truck stop and ask around as to who is going
where. Sometimes you can add your item to an independent that is headed
that way.
