All too true, Joe....BUT, the battle ain't over yet. The main problem for the anti's is that WE have the guns, and THEY have to take them away. Look at their strategy to present: First, take 30 years to chip away and generally annoy the people that own the guns. Harrass them at every turn, insult them, arrest them, fine them, tax them, teach their kids in school that they're evil, etc. THEN, when you have them really pissed off, some unannounced Monday morning, get your 300,000 or so all-volunteer army, and mount an assault against an estimated 60 to 70 milion gun owners. It will be all over by Tuesday afternoon, if Custer's last stand taught anything at all. Only THIS time, we get to be the Indians! This is where liberal rights takers ALWAYS fail. Making draconian policies is one thing, but implementing them and keeping them in place is always another. The late government (sic) of the Union of Fewer and Fewer Soviet Socialist Republics could point this fact out for you!
