Yeah, but there are two problems associated with it. Well, three. First, if it
cannot be disengaged, you are done for 4X4 operation. Front wheels won't go the
same speed. Second, do you have a plan for how to stop a zillion pounds of iron,
going way faster than it's supposed to go? Those brakes suck, as you know. Brand
new, and properly adjusted, they only stink. After a while they get worse. Lastly,
the overdrive or new set of gears for front and rear differentials, including the
installation (hours, as I hear), is well over a kilobuck.
    I initially asked the same question, and recently came to decide to not change
anything. It's a 40 MPH vehicle. It's a cool 40 MPH vehicle, though. Grant you
that.... Jim
