I am posting these web sites to the list I think most of you will find it
interesting as it pertains to restoring old machines for historical reasons.
This ship carried more GI's during WWII than any other transport. (didn't
carry them very far). They are trying to raise her from the bottom of
Ensenada Bay. I grew up on Catalina Island during the 50's, dove for coins
when the Great White Steamship docked at 12:00 during the summers. Listened
to the Big Bands play at the Casino Ballroom and learned to drive in and
Army Jeep when I was 13 years old! Hope this is enough reference to MV's.
