Oops, I was thinking of something else.
According to PS Magazine August 1997 generators, particularly the newer ones
develop " wet stack " as a result of fuel and carbon residues building up in
the cylinders and exhaust systems. The recommended loading is about 80% of
capacity. The slobber is oil slipping by the rings as a result of lower and
unequal thermal expansion due to underloading and short engine run
durations.
Injector slobber is when the injection and cut off are not precise leading
to diesel fuel being dribbled into the cylinder during the rest of the
cycle. You need to rebuild them to get the engine running right again.
