FYI those old buildings were built as TEMPORARY quarters for the
duration of the war. Unfortunately for use enlisted pucks they were
still in use over 30 yrs later.. while the officers got new housing. I
was stationed at Kodiak (USN) and we had a blizzard come in for 3 days
and we had to wear our artic parkas with our shower shoes just to go to
the showers. There was ice in the sinks and the wind whistled thru the
walls. So I have no lost sentiment for them. They were/are fire traps at
best so nuc em, Kato. K
