Subject: [MV] MB AXLE WOES

Backed out the '43 MB last night for a Halloween run and on the first
movement forward experienced a severe binding in the front axle. There's
about 100 miles on this Jeep after a complete rebuild, including axles, and
no problems have been experienced previously.

Tonight I put the front end up on jack stands, put the transfer case in
neutral/front axle out and have found the following:

1. Driver side wheel will rotate forward a full turn or two and then locks
up. With a few short rearward and forward rotations it will free up and
rotate forward again a couple turns and problem repeats itself.

2. Passenger side wheel will free rotate backwards but will duplicate
driver side problem on a forward rotation.

Does this sound like a Rzeppa Joint problem?

J. D.
