RE: [MV] EVENTS 2001

Were I planning a world event that presents lots of vehicles with wheels and
tracks I would certainly try to put it in a place that minimized the use of
air/sea shipping and maximized the use of roads.
However if sometime in the near future they would have it in far
northeastern Russia, I would be willing to help set up a ferry so I could
drive my Deuce!

On behalf of my misguided countryman, I will apologize for that post. Even
if said in jest.
As an American, I found it offensive, I can hardly imagine what some of the
other list members from overseas thought.

And we wonder why they call us "Ugly Americans"

Guys, think about it a little bit before you post.

So, given the nature of your statement, we are to understand only the US is
entitled to anything great? Perhaps the Olympics should only be held in the
US? The very idea of suggesting an event with literally thousands and
thousands of vehicles coming to the US where we have these pitiful
"nationals" of a few hundred is beyond ridiculous and certainly beyond
reason.
