Hi Gavin
Check to see if it has just one cats eye on the bottom which would be white,
as opposed to to the dual red cats eyes for rear use. If so it sounds like
the front light assembly from an M35 or M37, as well as others of this
vintage. The clear glass lense on the top was used for parking lamps.
