M38 hints?

Hello list,

This weekend I'll be helping a vary lucky friend trailer two jeeps home.
I haven't seen them, but they sound like M38's. He traded a cordwood saw
for them. Yeah, I know.... What don't I get those kind of breaks, too.?

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone out there in list land has any sage
words of advice or warning on recovering and/or restoring these
treasures.
