Rick,
When I restored my MB, I did a total restoration
to the frame and running gear first. Then I started
the motor and worked out the bugs in it. After
jack-standing the axles, I did a through the gears
test at an idle. Bled the brakes and everything
else associated with this part of the restoration.
Then I covered it up and proceeded to restore the
body. Once this was done, I installed the body,
new wiring, seats and etc.
I wanted to get all of the dirty (grease and oil)
work done before I did the body.
I'm not sure if I answered your question. I've
performed many show winning restorations, so
if I missed your point, write to me.
