It isn't enough to just lean on the cable - no way.
Best advice is to unspool all the cable and then spool it all back on
again dragging against something the weight of a jeep or more. You can
attach it to a fixed point and then just get the truck to drag itself
towards it - but you need to be good to get it even that way. The DUKW
starting handle had a neat hook on it for spooling purposes that worked
well.
