Well I hate to say this but what you have appears to be a french home
heating oil can. These US jerry cans modified with a German / English
spout were common after the war; they were bought in bulk by sellers of
heating oil who used them for deliveries. It was quite common for them
to cannibalize damaged cans to make good ones which may explain the USMC
on the side and CONCO on the bottom.

The spout were changed to make them a bit more leak proof, the German /
English pattern spout giving a more positive closure than the US-style
screw lid.

The German / English spout with mounting flange used in the conversion
were made by Aubry, this was a transformation done for civilian use by a
civilian manufacturer who later went on the make whole jerry cans for
the civvy market.. (they also sell the rubber gasket if anyone is
interested)

Sorry about that.....
