m151's in Vietnam

Ok, we've been down this road before, so my apologies, but I have been in
quite a heated discussion with a person in the local club about mutts in
Vietnam. He is claiming that only early, straight m151's were shipped to
Vietnam. He said turn signals were a field add-on.

He said m151a1's NEVER were shipped to Vietnam. I know this to be bogus
because there simply were not enough straight m151's manufactured to account
for the number of mutts in Nam.

Onto another subject. What is the truth about A2's in Nam? Were the
marines, navy, air force, or army ever issued a2's during Vietnam? I have a
very early a2 that I was going to put Vietnam markings on, but he insists
A2's were not sent overseas. I supposed I could make it a local guard unit
or something.

Can someone help shed some light on this? Especially the A2 part. I find
it hard to believe that "NO" A2's EVER made it to Vietnam.

Thanks,
