I was away for a few days, to those who sent me e-mail regarding the 28th Annual Rally, its best to direct your questions to "aberdeenrally@aol.com" or better yet visit the web site for the registration form, map of field, photos, links, etc.
This year will feature more events, the Rally coincides with Ordnance Week and the U.S. Army Ordnance Center is having displays, a large parade/review on the 11th May. The Ordnance Museum Restoration Facility tours are also expanded, since they were so popular last year. Also on the Web site there is info on the raffle of a really nice, complete and running military Volvo Ambulance that will be drawn at the Rally right after our vehicle awards cermony on Sat, 12 May. The web site is being updated weekly so visit it again soon for more info. Advertising is being increased, beyond the usual Military Vehicle magazines, e.g. Militaria International, Hemmings, etc. In addition flyers are being distributed at re-enactments such as Battle of the Bulge at Fort Indian Town Gap 25-27 Jan, gun shows, etc. Every member on this lists help is appreciated too, proceeds for this non-profit event go towards the Ordnance Museum expansion project. They are pulling out on !
average about 2 vehicles/arty pi

eces per month from the outdoor displays for restoration and then stored indoors awaiting start of the 300,000 sqft addition.
Lastly, the registration is proceeding very well since it is the first year that you can reserve your same spot if reservations are received by 15 Mar. A quick scan of some vehicles and display groups to date include several WWII re-enactment groups i.e. 29th Div, SAS, jeeps of all eras, unrestored Schwimmwagen,Paratrooper Motorscooter, 3 1/2 tracks, 6 M37s, SuperDUKW, etc...
