Towing, Parading an M38A!

I've been told that, when towing a M38A1, to put the Transfer in Neutral,
Disengage Front Axel and put Transmission in High Gear to splash the oil
around good. And
When driving in parade put the hubs in (if you have hubs) , transfer in low
and use low gear.

And they always say this real fast adding that the syncro is on 2 and third
gear only.

Without starting a big fuss and making it worse, will someone knowledgable
please constructively comment. Richard
