Denatured alcohol is Ethanol with added very bad tasting oil. This is
definitely not
poisonous, but tastes so bad, that only real hard core alscoholics will drink
it.
We call it "Spiritus" here in Germany and use it for many purposes in the
house.
(For example to operate the battery box heater lamps for the Kettenkrad).

Methanol is poisonous as is and is not for sale for the "normal" public
household
user.
