I stack short lengths of railroad ties, or a stack of tires & rims
(assembled), as insurance. If the jack does fail and fall, the truck lands
on the insurance, not me. It just has to be tall enough to allow room for
your widest part ... that'll be across the shoulders, correct? [trying to be
kind here :) ]
Do take care, likely that no one else will work on it if you're unable to
for a short spell.
