During our visit at GPAs Rally at Jakes yesterday (great turnout, great Rally), a lot of questions were asked about Aberdeen. So here is a quick SITREP.
Yes; there are still spaces available, of 516 available spaces, the treasurer reports over 400 are sold with 5-6 reservation forms coming in per day. With only 3 weeks left, they will not last long. No spaces are being "saved" after the 15th Mar it was first come first served. None are usually available at the rally
Yes; Ordnance Museum Restoration Facilty Tours are being offered several times daily, yes, photos are permitted, no ID is needed, its free.
Yes Munson Test Course is on, for Friday 11 May at 1000-1200, for US Citizens photo ID and SSN is required, vehicles must be licensed/tagged. Non-US Citizes require passports (preferred) or some other form of photo ID. While fully coordinated, we're working with the government and nothing is guaranteed. Hopefully it will be as great as last year with M1 Tank and FMTV demo thrown in too.
Advertising; We have spent the most ever, hit all the obvious mags, many related ones, web sites, local and state papers, flyers, etc.
The field will be have very controlled access more than ever before since we will be asking for a $5 donation for the 3 day event for visitors, entry includes a raffle ticket for the Volvo Military Ambulance, to be drawn at Sat o/a 3:30pm. Do not have to be present, looks and runs great, inside Ordnance Museum now. It was donated to the Museum and all proceeds go to the foundation, will be moved to the Rally site on 10 May.
