Sounds like a typical overheated electronic device problem. Many
transistorized gadgets can act crazy or die when too hot, especially if they
have components that have gotten out of tolerance. Try swapping the flasher
unit. It's located on the firewall and has cooling fins. But first try this:
when it stops working, take a wet cloth (don't worry, you wont hurt anything,
it's weatherproof, or get a shock) and try to cool off the unit. See if it
starts working again. A can of Freon or a CO-2 extinguisher will work, too.
You might also try removing it from the firewall, and cleaning any corrosion
in the area where it is attached. Maybe a bad ground.
