Just a quick update on the '39 Ford Panel.
Mr. Phil Garthe of CalTrans took it upon himself to write me and slam
my poor old panel and ALL TWO YEAR'S WORTH of very hard-won research.
He's VERY sure it wasn't
National Guard OR CalTrans.
I rebutted each item of his high-handed letter and wrote him back. I
used LOGIC and RESEARCH RESULTS to stuff his unenlightened views up his
***.
He obviously hasn't walked across the street
to the California State Archives...Or across town to the California
Military Museum...
Why do people find it necessary to take the
wind out of your sails, especially "those-in-the
know"?
Anyway, one good piece of trivia learned: 1939 California (perhaps
other U.S. National
Guard Units) used a paint VERY CLOSE TO
TODAY'S UPS TRUCK COLOR, INCLUDING
GLOSS. So I wasn't so crazy, after all.
