Hercules 6 for 52 M43

I have been offered a flat head Hercules 6 out of a 52 Diamond T fire truck.
Would this engine, by any chance also be the same Hercules 6 that would fit
in a 52 M43 ambulance? Or am I just wishing too hard?

How do I go about identifying the proper engine needed?
