The thing that got me, the kicker, the over the top, was the fact that a cop
on a bicycle told him to leave and then found him less than a mile away,
drawing a crowd, and he decided to get mouthy.
The kid was just the cherry on top.

Rikk,

Thanks for digging in. Unfortunately, this list is prone to
automatically assuming that the MVers are the "Good Guys" and the cops
are a bunch of "Morons" or, worse, "Fascisits". Like all groups, some of
our members are brighter than others, some are more law abiding than
others. Same goes for the police as well.

If the West Heaven police's side of the story is even 1/2 true, the owner
of the M8 deserves what he is going to get. Driving an unregistered,
unlicensed, and uninsured (if that is a requirement in CT, which I think
it is) vehicle is just asking for trouble, especially if it is an
"attention getter". It doesn't matter if it is OD armor or hotrod red
jacked up Camero. Just because someone owns a piece of history doesn't
mean they also possess the right to decide which laws do and do not apply
to them. And *if* he got in the cop's face (not to mention what his
daughter *MIGHT* have done), that makes it even worse.

A few guys like this can ruin it for the rest of us. Gives us all a bad
name and adds fuel to the fire that we are all "nuttballs". Don't give
the authorities and the general public any reason to single us out more
than we have been already. Our numbers are just too small to fight a big
PR war with our various legislatures. Just a little common sense folks
or we might find ourselves worse off than we were before.

Steve
