The M35A2 God protected my truck this afternoon by causing a line of thunder
storms to come through, putting out the pile of brush and railroad ties
piled around it. It didn't even get scorched.
It gets one more chance to make it onto the road tomorrow. (Maybe it
just needs a smarter owner?)
My daughter did discover stars on the drivers door and front bumper that
were not visible under the (badly) brushed on, big runs 4 color camo paint.
She thinks DA's are neat, so who am I to argue. This truck never got CARC'ed
or turbo'ed or rebuilt since built in '68. It's almost like it had bad mojo,
so was left alone in the corner of the motor pool so it wouldn't infect the
other trucks.
And found a use for my oldest porch monkey...crawling under the truck to
hold all those hard to reach fasteners that make working on theses beasts so
awkward for us "senior" mechanics (or wannabes). And now knows the
difference between 3/8" and 1/2" drive tools. At least someone is learning
something out of this.
