I can't sit here silent and listen to this advice about the 230 engines. Getting stuck with the Tornado engine because you love the truck is ONE thing, but purposely buying one when you don't have to is foolish. Why not just pound your money down a rathole? If you're going to buy a 230, then buy one that has blown up. That way, at least you see what you're headed for. A few testimonials from users doesn't prove a thing. There are exceptions to everything. Just read for yourself. The government stopped buying the truck because of the Tornado engine, after just a couple of years production. You can revise history if you like, but for something to get back up to the pentagon level that quickly, something must have been wrong with it. Talk to some ex-GI's who are old enough to have actually served with the truck. You won't find too many of them having love affairs with it. The Tornado engine, along with the M715, belongs in the same folder with Gamma Goats, flying jeeps, the Os!
prey,and other government "good
ideas that never flew". Can you say "pork barrel"?
