Hi List...

The messages about the baking manual reminded me of another quest of
mine. And it IS MV-related!

Does anyone have or know where I can find a Navy submariner's recipe
box? It is a wooden box with recipe cards in it and the recipes are
scaled to serve the number of seamen in the shifts that would eat at
each time. These recipe boxes were supposedly standard issue on subs,
and maybe on ships too.

My father was a cook on the USS Baya in San Diego in 1961 through 1963
including during the Cuban Missile Crisis, and he often spoke of this
recipe box. I would love to find one, so if anyone comes across one
please keep me in mind.

Thanks!
