Partially restored 1951 M-37 for sale in Corona California.

(Sorry if this hits you multiple times, it was sent to three different lists
catering to the same Olive Drab Passion.)

I have for sale a partially restored 1951 M-37.

Engine ran smoothly two years ago (ask Chris Davis, he was there!) , and has
been kept covered or garaged ever since.

Unlike the picked over remains of a parts truck, this is a halfway completed
restoration. (I ran out of steam...)

I have 95% percent of the vehicle, there are some "nickle and dime" parts still
needed, but of this, only the windshield glass and left rear wheel cylinder are
needed to make it mobile. I have the soft top hardware and a canvas top in
"fair" to "good" condition, and troop seat hardware. I have the jerry can
holder. I have the bed-mounted spare holder (but not the disc and spinner), and
a proper spare is included. Most of the rubber is either missing or was rotten,
and you will have to get new tires soon.

There are some pieces that need to be rebuilt (I didn't say that you wouldn't
need a little elbow grease and know-how...) like the guts of the marker lights,
new headlight bulbs, as well as either a rewire or replacement of the instrument
cluster.

There is little body damage: Two rust out areas on the right side of the cab
that would be behind the jerry can holder. The right side fender has some rust
issues. The tailgate is lightly rusted, but somebody did a real hatchet job on
the edges, so you'll have to come up with a work around.

It mounts a Humm-Vee tow pintle.

This is a truck perfectly configured for somebody who wants to do a frame up
restoration. I removed the cargo box and disassembled it for sand blasting
(still needed), as well as the bed bottom, which is slightly deformed (looks
like somebody got a little too enthusiastic loading an engine block...)

Basically, all this truck needs somebody who has some experience putting M-37s
together. You'll have to replace a few of the nuts and bolts, but overall, I'd
say that another $1000.00 would give you a best of show winner...

I need to move this truck soon, and am asking $2000.00 or best offer. Buyer
will have to arrange for transport. Feel free to call with any questions, as
the sale of this truck will allow me to buy the operating M37B1 that I'm looking
at.

Thanks,

Bill Benson
