You do not have to disassemble anything on the M35 tranny to remove it. It
comes out as a unit.

Just finished installing a trans in a 5 ton M819. We had to remove the
shift lever from the gearbox. I think you will have to do the same on
your unit. If you do, be sure to remove the entire top cover. DO NOT
TRY TO REMOVE THE SMALLER TOWER BY ITSELF!! Previous mechanic did that
on the 5 ton and wound up breaking the pivot housing with the forks etc.
remaining in the gear box.
