While this might be a good idea in a vehicle with a gas engine, it is
precisely what every applicable technical manual on a Multifuel vehicle says
NOT to do.
The reason is the spring compression effect mentioned in another post, you
can actually increase your speed doing this (aside from hazards to engine).
By the way, even on some gassers this can be a problem, the rear of the
crankshaft on R6602 engines have been known to give way under these
circumstances.
