Most definetly not! Any load or stress bearing part should go nowhere
near Muriatic (Hydroclauric) Acid. What happens is that the breakdown
of the acid results in hydrogen seeping into the part. This causes
"Hydrogen embrittlement" which cannot be seen and is hard to test for
other than sacrificial breakage testing. You would be happily driving
along, say up a hill one day and "whamo" broken crank.

Yes, talk to someone who is knowledgable in these things don't
"wing it" yourself and mess around with unknown technology.

I have discovered to my cost that even something as supposedly kind as
Phosphoric Acid can do destructive things to steels containing other
than normal quanitities of carbon eg, spring steels.
