starting problem with mil car

Hard or no start cold? It would be a long shot if
Duraspark module fixed that!
In my experience Duraspark modules do one of two things: Don't work at
all or somehow intermittently advance timing (which breaks timing
chains, bends push rods). This is true especially on high-mileage cars.
Before I replaced the module, I would search for another dist. assy to
install. In my reasoning, the module is just about dead last
thing to change. Even the dist. is a long shot.
Carb mix (choke) plugs and wires are MUCH more likely. Did you ever
check timing? If this is the vehicle I remember, you can check initial,
centrifugal, vacuum advnce all one at a time.
Your underhood sticker should have the initial
specs. Does the rotor rotate (engine off) by hand one way and then snap
back to its original position in the dist? IF THE ROTOR
DOES NOT ROTATE A FEW DEGREES AND SNAP BACK I WOULD REMOVE THE
DISTRIBUTOR FOR FURTHER CHECKS.
Good Luck
