Sanding and Body Prep (faster)

A "DA" is the best all around power tool for body work but when trying to
knock off the layers of paint we usually have to deal with, not to mention
plastic filler, (bondo,)
the DA can be locked in single action mode by rotating the weight 180 degrees
and using 24 to 80 grit open coat paper. A DA actually multiplies the grit so
100 really acts like 400 (?) When you lock it, 100 is 100. A better tool for
fast clean stripping is an (air powered) angle grinder (not buffer; lower
speed) with a 9 inch "soft pad"with "stickit" (3M) type face and the same 24
to 80 grit paper. The "soft pad" is tapered foam about 1&1/2 inch thick. This
works better than a hard disc and backing; cuts faster and doesn't heat the
metal as much. Hope this helps! Wes G
