If you are not in for heavy haul and exact military
specs, up the tire diameter a bit. I have 285/75's
(Cooper Discover) on my M1028 and it helps get a less
engine-straining commute speed around 60 mph. My
mileage has been more in the 15-17 mpg range.
I got a set of stock 16.5 wheels and tried to put some
Humvee tires under it but there isn't enough wheel
well clearance up front.
