<<in regards to moving rear tires around........it is not advisable. rear
tires should be in sets by circumference and the two sets on the front
rear axle should average the set on the rear rear axle so that the
interconnect drive shaft has little or no load going straight. this will
give you the best tire wear.>>

Tom is absolutely correct in rear tire placement to avoid scrub. I have a
formula cobbled together that helps witht his as long as you don't have
detroit lockers and it goes like this;
Roll out circumference of all rear tires. Assign the tire with the greatest
circumference the number 1. Assign the tire with the shortest circumference
the number 8. Assign the rest of the tires from greatest to shortest
circumference in the same order with the lowest number being the greatest
circumference. Once all tires are numbered, assign them the following
locations. When this is complete the output rollout of the front tandem axle
will be as close as mechanically possible with the output rollout of the rear
tandem axle.
Tires 1&2 one one side and tires 7&8 on the other side of the same axle.
Tires 3&4 on one side and tires 5&6 on the other side of the other axle.
