Formula is:

EngineSpeed = 336 x RoadSpeed x Ratios(s) / EffectiveTireDiameter

Or the version I use:

EngineSpeed = 168 x RoadSpeed x Ratios(s) / EffectiveTireRadius

Where
  EngineSpeed is in rev/min
  RoadSpeed is in miles/hour
  Ratio(s) is the product of all applicable ratios (i.e. axle x transfer x
tranny..)
  Effective Tire Radius is the measurement from the center of the axle
      or hub to the ground.
