There was some excellent footage including of particular interest to me,
several clips with M3A3 Stuarts - in British, French and (unusually )
American use. It was far superior to the "Tank" series on Discovery which
combines good footage with "playstation"type computer simulation which
doesnt do the subject matter justice. However one of the "Tank" episodes was
filmed using an M18 Hellcat and 4 Stuarts, M5A1's and the M3A3, on the move
at speed, with a (very dusty) camera crew on the Hellcat, it's impressive
footage.This was done a few years ago at the War and Peace Show, after the
public had gone home.
As I write, a documentary on lesser known aspects of D Day( including the DD
Shermans and how dificult it was to escape from them) is being filmed this
week for BBC.
