Help! I am hoping one of the addressees can tell me what I am doing wrong,
and/or post the below long letter on the MV list for me.
I am trying to post the below letter to the MV list, but it keeps coming
back as undeliverable because of
"It has the content-type: multipart/alternative,
and this list accepts text only"
I am confused because my letter is all text! Even short messages that I try
to post come back undeliverable with the same rejection.

Here it is...

Dear List, Sarge here,
I am totally overwhelmed by the responses to the suggestion to start a "MV
roadside help" list. There were 35 e-mails supporting the idea and no
negative e-mails at all. It sounds like it's a go. I would like to clear up
one possible misconception. I do believe that I may have been the first one
to publish my telephone number on the list with an offer to help fellow
MV'ers in trouble, however the credit for the idea of starting a list
belongs to Arthur Bloom.
From the 35 positive replies there were 14 offers of roadside help along
with telephone numbers and locations. There was even one from Manitoba and
one from Denmark. Great!
So now what?
I did offer to publish all of these names and numbers on a web page, but
amongst the replies were two offers from MV'ers with web experience to
create a web page. As I have almost no web publishing experience, I will
defer to their abilities. They were Mark Copeland and Kerry Bernstein. I am
very grateful for their help. I do not wish to be seen as pawning off the
job, but they did offer and they sound as if they would do a better job
than myself. Mark and Kerry, please contact me.
I would like to suggest a few ground rules:
A) For people who are on the help list:
1) You are under no obligation to help, this is strictly a volunteer basis.
2) If at any time you wish your name to be removed from the list, it will
be done within 48 hours, no questions asked.
B) For people using the help list:
1) Never take unfair advantage of the people on the list.
2) You do not need to be on the list to use it.
3) Never use the list for any commercial reason whatsoever.
C) For people maintaining the list:
1) At least 3 people capable of modifying the content within 24 hours
(passwords etc.)
2) Must handle all complaints of abuse within 24 hours.
3) All 3 people must publish their e-mail addresses on the web page, along
with these rules.
I strongly believe in the KISS (keep it simple, stupid!) principle, so
let's not overly complicate these rules. There have already been several
good suggestions, and please keep sending them. Gripes are welcome too. How
about a catchy name for the list? Something that will not inflate my head!
Thank you all...
