Why don't you just do what the NG is doing to all the M35A2's they kept?
They convert them to M35A3's which is basically just taking the 5 ton engine
and allison automatic tranny and swapping them in the M35A2. They then put
on those huge super single radial tires, so I bet those suckers haul ass!
