LDS-465-2 (this is the M656 engine) 195 hp 425 ft-lb torque
LDS-465-1A 175 HP 425 FT-LB
LDS-465-1 175 HP 425 FT-LB

ALL THE ABOVE TORQUE VALUES ARE AT 2000 RPM, WHILE THE HP FIGURES WERE AT
2600 RPM, EXCEPT FOR THE -2, WHICH WAS AT 2800 RPM.

LD-465-1 126 HP 300 LB-FT
LD-465-1C 126 HP 300 LB-FT
LDT-465-1C 130 HP, 305 LB-FT

FOR ALL THE ABOVE THE HP VALUES ARE AT 2600 RPM, WHILE THE TORQUE OF THE
NATURALLY ASPIRATED ENGINES WAS 1400 RPM, THE TURBO MODEL AT 1500.

There are numerous differences internally (and externally) between the 5 ton
(S) engines. Also, to get more HP, you burn more fuel, which results in more
heat, which requires greater cooling capacity.

It is nevertheless interesting to watch the test of the engineering skills of
various owner/operators Vs the engineering skills utilized by M.A.N., White,
Hercules, Continental, APG, and TACOM when developing and refining this
engine and chassis configuration over 30 years.
